HANEDA AIRPORT's preventive measures for COVID-19 and requests for all passengers

Measures against COVID-19
At Haneda Airport, we are working together with the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and other relevant agencies and airport operators to take measures against COVID-19.
We are making use of our website, social media, posters, digital signages, etc., to promote awareness among passengers. We have installed hand sanitizing stations inside the terminals, and have in-terminal announcements and posters that encourage preventive measures from infections, such as handwashing, wearing masks, and proper cough etiquette.
In addition, we routinely inform passengers that individuals with symptoms such as fever will not be allowed to board an aircraft and request all passengers wear a mask via terminal announcements.
How to use airport facilities safely
In the interests of health and safety, we ask all passengers to cooperate with the items below.
HANEDA's preventive measures
HANEDA AIRPORT will exhaust all measures to provide a safe environment for all passengers.

All airport staff will be wearing masks
To prevent the spread of COVID-19 at all stages, all airport staff will be wearing masks without exception. In some cases, staff will also wear face shields.

All airport staff will frequently and thoroughly wash their hands
All airport staff are currently washing their hands thoroughly before starting work, during their break, and when they finish. Staff are also frequently using hand sanitizer.

Installation of hand sanitizing stations
We have installed hand sanitizing stations for passenger use at various locations, such as terminal entrances/exits, counters, and security checkpoints.

Thorough cleaning of airport facilities
We are conducting thorough cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces frequently touched by passengers: doorknobs, handrails, luggage carts, wheelchairs, baby strollers, straps and handrails on free terminal shuttle buses.
HANEDA's measures against the 3 C's
To safely use the airport facilities, we recommend all passengers avoid the 3 C's: Closed spaces, Crowded places, Close-contact settings.
We ask for passengers' help to prevent any further spread of COVID-19.

Raising awareness of social distancing
Through the use of posters, we ask passengers to refrain from having conversations in locations where people are in close proximity.
We are encouraging passengers to stay a safe distance from each other by suggesting a standard distance and changing the way we use and place tables and chairs.

Avoiding close contact with employees
We are limiting contact between passengers and employees by installing plastic sheeting at check-in counters and help desks.

Thorough ventilation of closed spaces
We are conducting thorough ventilation of locations such as security checkpoints, terminal buildings, customs, arrival floors, restaurants, and shops as much as possible.
Airside transfer and shuttle buses will also be ventilated frequently and disinfected according to passenger volume.

Introduction of contactless systems
We are introducing contactless systems to allow passengers to check-in and check their luggage without meeting an employee.
We are taking various other preventative measures according to our guidelines.
